Curiouse about .5 micron 15 carat diomond spray
I'm contemplating using the 15 carat .5 micron diamond spray on the reverse side of my felt. New to using it. Reading the forums you can do a few strokes weekly to maintain the edge followed by normal stropping and a few extra strokes monthly. I would really appreciate your thoughts. I have a new Dovo and I'm still learning with stropping. Shaves are progressively getting better so I know I am too.

Thanked: 522Pastes and sprays are sometimes helpful if you use them sparingly. Touching up an edge on leather, balsa or felt seems to work for many guys. As your skill level progresses, you should learn to rely more on your hones. Experience will teach you the best touch-up method for you.

I use .5 and .25 once a week to maintain the edges. I like them because it gives the razor the extra umph I need. Some feel they put a harsh edge on the razor I do not think so. But as mentioned you can over use them so start of with the least amount of strokes possible.

A few questions, I have a 100% hard pressed felt. How many sprays should I use on it and how often do I need to respray it? I'm using the reverse side of it so I still have my normal routine. How many strokes do you do during your weekly/ monthly touch up and do you just follow your normal stropping routine after using the spray side?

I do about two passes (4 strokes) once or twice a week with the .25. Once a month I will hit 1 micron for 10 passes, .5 for 5 passes and .25 for two or three passes. As far as how many times to go up and down the material once should suffice. So spray down the length of the felt and back. Longevity, dunno, when it stops being effective
