Thanked: 270Sometimes you stumble onto an easier way to do things.
By the way, congratulate me for my first trip with the straight razor and strop! I was about to grab the Merkur Slant DE but then ordered myself not to wimp out.
Anyway, at home, my strop is hung waist high because I thought that was the way to do it. In other words, I have always stropped perpendicular to the floor.
By necessity the only way I could hook the strop up in the motel rooms were by the hangers, which means I had to strop at a 45-degree angle upward. (I'm waiting for someone to tell me that this is the way I should have been doing it all along.)
The motel setup, that is stropping at a 45-degree angle upward was EASIER! I've been getting easy, enjoyable shaves on the road.
