I started on the Illinois #127 strop. I cut it up a bit while learning to strop, but I still use today and it still works great.
You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

I really like my SRD strops, and the good thing is, if you do happen to cut it up to bad you can buy replacement parts instead of having to purchase a whole new strop.

The Star Shaving 3" Big Daddy is an excellent value. It's available at their website or on eBay. However, some recent posts have indicated customer service issues with this company. Their eBay rating remains high, so maybe customer service is better if you order there.
