Thread: looking For some Info

Hi all, I have the 3" Big Daddy Leather and Felt strop. Really nice strop. I"m sure this has been discussed but can I use the Felt dry before I strop with the Leather? I was told NO. It is for pasting. Sooooo I ordered a Linen strop for clean up before I Leather Strop. New to all this and want to keep it simple for now as I work my way up the Ranks.

Anthony I can't say for the Big Daddy felt but when SRD released their Felt strop years back I did a test on using the felt rather then my normal Linen and found it to work just fine.. Other then a distinct difference in feel and sound the outcome was more than acceptable to my face...

Awesome Glenn, Thanks. Love the Razor you honed for me. gonna use it tomorrow. So it sounds like I can strop with the felt first (lets say 20 round trips) Then the leather ( about 30 or so round trips)? Really getting into this. Three shaves with my new DOVO and gonna take the ALWIN for a test drive tomorrow.

Yep at least try it and see what happens, I do 25/50 myself but that is always a YMMV number

ps: The Alwin does NOT need stropping first, it is ready to go

Did I forget to toss in the Honing Info Letter with that razor ??? I try to make sure I put one in every box, if I did let me know and I will e-mail one to ya
