Thanked: 1587Yeah, I agree with pups - if it were me I would be holding the strop a little tauter. It's hard to tell about the pressure issue - some use a bit, some use next to none, as long as you are not really bearing down (which I don't think you are) it's a matter of "whatever works for you".
I'd also agree with pixel that the "pattern" you use could be changed-up: there's the x-pattern which is good but which I find a little too regimented for a free-flowing exercise like stropping. I prefer a "C" pattern on the strop - like a windscreen wiper.
Anyway, these things come with time and practice - no one picks up perfect stropping straight away (and it could be argued that we are all, regardless of experience, still working on it until the day we die). Personally I cannot see too much wrong with what you are doing, and if you are getting good shaves post-stropping then you're doing well and the only way is up!
There's a wealth of information in a thread called "Stroptober" - done a year ago now (where does the time go...?) that could be worth a read/watch. It's always good to see what others do and why they do it.
Good luck,

Thanked: 3215Yes, Video 2 looks better.
Keep stropping and paying attention, your edges will get keener. I use the nylon/linen to clean the razor of gunk you do not want on your leather.
You may want to do more laps 50+ on leather.
