Thread: strop :/

Hi, i need some advise please.
I'm on my second strop. My first strop i basically cut it in half , eventually
So now i have an expensive strop. Black Bridle Leather with a cotton part. I love my strop more than the people in my life
I've become great at stropping now. I do 150 after every shave, at speed.
My blades really appreciates it.
However the other day i was a bit hung over and i knew not to go near my strop but i was honing my brothers collection of 9 blades, so i had to strop.
Like a muppet, on the first session i cut my strop. Its not a deep cut ,it just took a little chunk of the top layer, not really a chunk a very thin layer but its in the middle of the strop.
I'm worried that this slight divot might effect my edge...
Any imput would be nice ..

As you already have hones at the ready, I would just strop it as per usual, then inspect it(with a loupe if possible) and if it passes, SHAVE

I'd also check that by putting the cut in your strop you didn't roll or damage the edge on the blade.

Yeh , i will keep an eye on it and check my edges with my loupe.
On the bright side, it gives me an excuse to buy a more expensive "King Daddy Super Strop"

Ohhhh the lengths we will go to in order to justify our SAD, HAD, and RAD....

If the top grain you cut is a 'flap' you can contact cement it back and it will not be noticeable. If it's gone ..... well then it is gone.
