    Default New strop

Hey guys have been off the forums for a while. Since having a baby I've had my hands full. But I did want to share that I finally got a strop. It's an amazing strop that I got from a really nice fellow on here named hidestoart. It's a full 3 inches wide and has a really nice nylon component. I'll have pictures soon.

    Fatherhood is a beautiful thing.
Look forward to pictures, hopefully of both new additions.

Here it is, I've developed a few flips of hide in each end of the strop from it being my first and learning. Don't know if it will affect my blade or not.

That is a good looking piece of leather.
There is a great thread that goes over strop repair here somewhere.
Have you considered practicing with something less detrimental to the strop?
If there is anything I can do let me know.

I've gotten the hang of it now, just wish I could take back all the flips of leather I've caused lol. I've been stropping with it for a while now and it doesn't seem to dull the edge on my straight. I can feel the flips with my razor when stropping though :/
