    Default Polish?

So being in the military everyting made out of leather needs to be polished to be kept in good conditon, but my strop..... I dont think it would be a good idea to polish it with the regular wax and such, but would leather lotion help prolong the life of my strop?

No dont condition your strop with conditioners especially like you were polishing a boot. Maybe once a year I put 1 tiny drop of Fromm strop conditioner work it in. and thats it. no more then that. But during everyday use I will rub the strop back and forth with the palm of my hand to work the leather and to put some natural oils from my hand into the leather.

+1 to the above but in my case I use a very small amount of Neats Foot Oil every now and then.

When you put a conditioner on a strop it will drastically change the draw of the strop. Sometimes for the worse. Thats why the palm of your hand works the best cause it only puts a tiny, tiny bit of oil onto the strop, plus the heat generated while running your hand up & down also adds to the improved feel of your draw.
