    Default Storing a hanging strop

Does a hanging strop have to be left hanging, or can it be folded and put away in a drawer or cabinet or something?

    Do NOT fold. Roll.
I guess I should rephrase that before Catrent comes along and corrects me. Hang is best, laying flat may be okay, if you have to roll loosely. But what ever you do, Do NOT fold. :<0)

The best bet is to have it hanging. Even if you roll the strop you run the risk of creases forming in the leather, and once you have that they can be very difficult or impossible to remove.

I know a guy that uses a homemade sock over his hanging strop to protect it from other denizens of his abode when not in use. seems like a valid idea to me.

I leave them hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I just put up a couple of cup hooks.

If you don't care much about your strop, or need to store it, then you probably are not getting enough use out of it. Do you have a basement or an area in your garage you can store it? Also I just purchase a Tony Miller Strop and love it and want it to be seen. It is beautiful. You should also rub the strop with your hands daily to keep soft.
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.

When I am at home I store my strop in my wardrobe, I just hang it over the hook on the last hanger.
At work I hang it on my door handle.

Shouldnt you also roll them face side out? I don't really know but have heard this elsewhere, and it makes sense.

Yes, if you HAVE to roll it, always roll it loosely with the stropping side out.

That's a good idea. I could hang it in my closet when I'm not using it. I don't have a razor or strop yet, but I hope to get one soon, and I haven't decided on a hanging strop or Lynn's Modular Paddle Strop.
