Thanked: 6new poor mans strop from whipped dog
My woman got me the poor mans strop kit for christmas and boy does having a proper strop make a difference compared to newspaper. I had stopped shaving for about a week because it started pulling a bit but after a few passes on the pasted balsa and about 50 or so in leather i had my best shave yet and was even able to get the spots under the corner of my jaw.
The strop has what i would consider to be a very light draw but i dont have much to compare it to so i could be wrong . It arrived rolled up and stiff but after a little oil and extensive rubbing it softened up and felt nice. I managed to nick it but it was not a technique issue, on my away stroke while still moving forward my dog bumped me and made me rock back a little causing the edge to pull back and nick it slightly.
All in all i wouldnt hesitate to reccomend whipped dog strops to anybody, thumbs up to larry for a great product, fast shipping, and an exceptional value.
