I've left mine hanging near the sink a few times after use, forgetting to put it back on its hanger away from water. I have gotten a few drops of water on it over time and it immediately stains (turns the Roo dark) and it does not reverse. It also swells a little, but seems to flatten back out over time.

I haven't tried any neats foot or other treatments for fear of a negative reaction from the liquid. The Roo, as you know, is really thin. I do on occasion give it the palm rubbing.

The occasional drop of water shouldn't be a problem but mixing water and leather the possibility of swelling and stiffening is an issue as far a a strop is concerned. If you believe that you will get it wet frequently covering it would be a good idea.

Size: 34.1 KB If you like the draw you have now, don't apply anything. I temporarily 'ruined' a strop with a very small amount of leather conditioner.
