Thread: Beginner strop on the cheap

    I figured since i have all the stuff lying around I'd give it ago at making my own strop. I made it 2 1/2" wide and 18" long I'll let you know how it works when my SR gets here, lol. I also have a paddle strop I made for my knives, but it's not as wide.

    For anyone else looking for affordable and Made in the USA strops Star Shaving can't be beat. I ordered one for my brother for his birthday and was mad at myself for not ordering 2 when it arrived. 3" hanging leather and felt for under $40. Paddle strops for under $20 (factory seconds). Just ordered some more for myself.

    I like mine but I don't like the draw... Even after neats foot and lather still barely any draw

    Good for you, Im sure it'll turn out just fine. The best part is you made it yourself!
