    Default Spilled paste/fluid

I'm pretty new in the game and I was just pasting my 4 sided paddle strop an unfortunately managed to spill some (a 1mm line running across) of 6 microns onto what I planned to use for 0.25 microns. I immediately threw some tissue paper on it, and managed to soak most up. But is the leather now ruined for a lower grit?

    Regards,

If it's only a 1mm line it probably won't do any real harm provided you get as much of the stuff up as possible. Use some saddle soap or similar but don't spread it out as you clean. Maybe a mild abrasive like a pumice stone might help too.

From what you said in the other thread it dried clear. Was it colored to begin with. Trying to remove it if any was left has probably set it in now and only some abrasive may remove it. Is it smooth or napped leather. The easy thing if your really concerned is just don't strop on that section.

Yeah, I was wondering about changing the leather, but I'll try it first.
It was yellow, but very watery "paste". The drop hit the leather, and just kinda dropped off the leather as well. Then I applied tissue paper (just put it on top, a slight pat, no rubbing in, and this 1 mm wet line was all that was left.
It was happening on smooth leather.

Smooth is good and that it didn't adhere even better. Give the area a VERY light sand with 2000 grit Wet and Dry making sure all grit is off the leather and palm rub the area vigorously and you should be sweet to paste as if it never happened. All your trying to do is just remove that very top layer that was in contact so lightly does it. Good luck.
