Thumbs up Herold Russian Leather Strop

I purchased a 3" Russian leather strop (#181J) and 2" linen strop from The Superior Shave and received it last week. The quality of the product is outstanding and the resulting blade edge far exceeded my expectations. I am using the Dovo red and black sharpening paste in my touchups. I use the red on the linen strop and the black on an older leather strop (my first strop).

In my opinion, prices were very fair and the shipping was free.

This Russian leather is a thing of beauty. It has nice feedback and a medium draw.

I have both the Herold Russian & Oiled Russian (181J & 181WJ) Leather strops. Both get used regularly since both are a pleasure to use. I use a smooth flax linen prep strop which makes for an effective combo. I have several other good strops but these Herold strops get the most regular use. I do stropping sessions in which multiple razors in my rotation will be stropped so that come shave day, each razor is ready to use. On shave day, I typically don't strop because I've already done it. On shave day, I just pick up my razor of choice and shave. My two Herold strops both give good edges.

I love Russian leather. That raised nap Russian is great stuff. After a few years of use it gets good and burnished. (The butter zone)
    Enjoy....

There is a seller, ECop, who has these. Ebay and online. Same as Dovo and Jemico. Great strops!
