    Default strop leather

    i have a brass strop buckle ..im in the market to put some leather in the buckle to make a strop.. and also track down some linen.. anyone know who sells leather that they will cut custom.. or even linen? what type of leather do i need??

    I'm not familiar with your area, but check for a Tandy's leather store, or a shoe repair place (if they still have those places), or a western store, a feed store, a custom furniture store,,,,,,,,,,,just don't go into any Leather Bars looking for a strop,,

    Tandy has some nice strap/belt leather different widths up to 3".

    there was a linen thread sometime ago. I seem to recall there is a few places to get it from but the max width is 2 1/2"

    For linen look at old trashed leather strops on the bay. The linen on those is what I use. They clean up real well with some elbow grease and I like that they have an already broke in feel to them.
