    I once had a glued-down flap that made a bump, but I set a large magic marker on it (could have use a marble or whatever), weighed down with a 3-pound weight overnight. Flattened it down nicely.
    Keep your pivot dry!

    I actually just attempted my first strop repair using advice from this site - rubber cement + 800 grit sand paper to smooth. It looks/feels pretty good. Going to give it a shot and see if I can save it as I really like this strop (English leather IV from Straight Razor Designs).
