I have heard of good results with an application of tallow based lather will clean and soften the leather. Others use neatsfoot oil. I am currently trying lather on an old strop to "re-hydrate" it. It has made a great improvement so far, will see how it does after one or two more applications. If it does not tun out a good as I am hoping Imay just turn it into a CrOx strop.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

    Thank you.

I sanding with abrasive, from 240 to 800, the result is ok, now i must look for some oil.
