Yes.

Having recently spent a couple of weeks camping, I stropped on my jeans before shaving and it was fine. You could try taking an old pair of jeans and making a denim strop. I use a denim strop regularly and it works fine although I'd have concerns about whether it would have trouble staying flat after being repeatedly rolled up (I suppose it wouldn't be hard to iron it flat or hold it under a hairdrier when it gets crinkly).

In all honesty though, when I see a Harley it usually has so much leather paraphernalia stuck to it or worn by the rider, that there must be endless leather surfaces to strop on.

Yes you can strop on your palm , but I can tell you I ride as much as anyone, ( I don't ride 4 wheels when I,m off work ) my belt works just fine or I roll up up a strop , hasn't hurt it yet, and recently I got a feather RG No stropping. Oh the wallet works also , and I carried a small piece of leather once that was 2"x8" , just set it on a flat surface and go at it , it fit inside of my Harley rider map. Tc

Just pick up a 'Strop-backed Hone'...that's what they were made for. Compact, and a 'Twofer'...refreshing hone and strop all in one.

I'm late to the game, but here's a quickie travel strop I put together for my last trip. Taking my full size was a pain in the butt, and got creased in my bag which took forever to get out. This was put together with some basic stuff from Tandy Leather and works well enough. It lays inside the bottom of my dopp kit, and I included a long leather lace to wrap around the bathroom doorknob and still have it feel like I'm using a full size strop.

I'm definitely not brave enough to palm or forearm strop, particularly while on travel.

Just make a small paddle strop,no lanyards or doorknobs needed,just toss it in your duffle or suitcase,no worrys about kinks.

Woodworking isn't something I have the tools for, but I bet a 1X1 or 2X2 would work pretty well with minimal cuts. Definitely not as dressed up as your paddle.

Sorry Pixel,,, but I just don't see myself tossing that paddle in a suit case or duffle,,, that's a top shelf Shave Den Paddle if I ever saw one,,,,
