Thanked: 0SRD Premium Fabric Question
Hey guys,
As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently purchased a new Premium IV strop from Straight Razor Designs. For my second strop I got the SRD Premium Fabric. I love the draw on it compared to the nylon webbing (which was also very nice), but I have a couple of questions.
First, the nylon webbing was significantly more pliable, whereas the premium fabric is very stiff...almost as if it has been starched. Will this eventually break in and become softer, or is this desirable in a fabric strop?
Second, I happen to have two of the 3" SRD premium fabric pieces, and both of them appear to be *very* slightly curved. It's as if the left edge is 1/16" to 1/8" shorter than the right edge. In fact, they are both curved in approximately the same arc. It's not a major problem, but it is especially noticeable when the strop hangs. Is this normal/will it stretch as I strop with it, or is it something I should be concerned about?
Thanks for your help!

Thanked: 24I also kind of felt like the premium fabric was a little stiff and looking at my edge after using I felt like it put some scratches in my edge. I need to rehone my razor and take it to the fabric again to see what happens.
