Default SRD premium horsehide strop discontinued?

Hi all - first post here. Only been wet shaving for a few months (DE only so far), and am about ready to get going with a 6/8" TI. I came down with AD early on, and I've barely been able to resist the urge of getting a 60K Kanayama as my first strop. Seen a lot of old posts and reviews singing the praises of the SRD premium horsehide, but found no mention of it being discontinued, which I'm assuming it has been given its absence from the store.

Does anyone happen to know for sure that it was discontinued, or whether it might be coming back? If it's gone for good I suppose I'll get the English bridle, unless someone thinks there's a better alternative. (I really wanted cordovan for some reason.)

    Thanks for any advice!

    mrbloagus,

Perhaps a telephone call to Straight Razor Designs will give you a more accurate and speedy response.

Or an email to SRD's customer service. They always answer quickly...phone or email.

Welcome to SRP. From the enthusiasm of your post, and mention of ADs ........ I would say go ahead and get the English bridle. You'll be more than a one strop man before all is said and done anyway.

I vote for Neil Miller - PM him and order up his cordovan strop with linen - you will experience stropping nirvana.

Have often wondered about the SRD horsehide strop. Have read about them many times but every time I visit the website there are none. If you do find out let us know as if they are available it would be something I want to get
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanks for the replies. I emailed SRD about the horsehide and they said "we have no plans as of now but you never know". Now that I'm sitting here drooling over pictures of the Neil Miller I'll probably go with that, especially since most seem to prefer 2.5".
