Thanked: 26Is there much difference?
I was just looking at diamond pastes and i was wondering if there are any 'avoid' brands or 'recommended' brands? i was just looking at DMT and wicked edge, you get about the same amount paste/money but for this price its a choice between 2ml of DMT 1mic or wicked edge 1ml 1 mi + 1ml 0.5 mic.
like i say, its more a question of other brands recommended or avoided.
thanks

I know SRD is picky about their merchandise. I just bought what they offered and called it a day. I have enough for two lifetimes in one bottle

Have a look at the SRD or hand America sprays. Both are good quality and you get about 100ml i think. 1ml is not a lot. Good as a trial maybe but a bottle of spray will likely last a lifetime. without knowing the costs its hard to give a comparison.

Thanked: 3215Yea, a big difference in Diamond sprays and pastes.
I have had good results with SRD, Chef Knives to go and Hand America. Who were the CNTG supplier as well as other razor vendors. I noticed CNTG is selling Diamond sprays with the Richmond brand, don’t know if it is still from Hand America and I have not used the Richmond branded sprays.
I have been using Diamond paste for years from a variety of vendor and found a large performance gap. Inexpensive Diamond paste is good for tools and knives and some for polishing, but usually not for razors.
I would buy from these 3 vendors or at least find out who is supplying your razor vendor and buy from a razor supplier or Hand America for razor use.
Aggressive Diamond paste and sprays when used with pressure can lead to micro chipping. That is the issue I have had with inexpensive Diamond paste without pressure.
For razors I prefer the sprays, .25 and .50, .50 for refreshing and .25 for maintenance. Nylon, Polyester, and canvas, cotton and Polyester are best for Diamond sprays.
For Diamond, Chrome Oxide and CBN, buy quality paste and sprays from known Razor Vendors, for most, a bottle is a lifetime supply.

What makes one brand junk and the other quality is the sorting of the diamonds. Cheap ones are poorly sorted so you really don't know what the real mesh size is. The good ones are uniform and consistent.
