I washed my SRD 3" premium fabric strop and it is a little softer now. I put .5 micron chromium oxide crayon from SRD on it. I also have a webbing strop with .5 micron diamond spray from SRD on it. I don't have the skill or experience to determine which one I like more. Much less to determine if one works better or faster than the other. I trust both work fine and will do a great job. For now I'm going to use the webbing strop because it's a bit more friendly feeling. Using different strops I'm sure confuses my muscle memory as it tries to develop.

I received mine (felt and premium fabric) in the mail today and it too is really stiff. I put some chromium oxide on it. Then I hit it with my razor. Strange feeling aside, there was no arguing with the results.

If it works stick with it! It doesn't matter what it sounds or feels like.
