    No i understand what you are saying, i just think if your able to scratch the leather in an up and down motion and not in an x motion then it all boils down to to much pressure, what do you think?

    it just happens with the spike point razors, with other rounded heads like Puma and other similar ones I can strop without any accident. I believe the pressure I'm applying to the strop is not too heavy and the light scratches on the leather are with up and down and x strokes motion. But this is one of the reasons why I prefer narrow strops, as explained in my previous messages.

    no problem, inviting someone to be careful to the pressure on the strop is always a good warning in my opinion.

    I used my strop this morning! I was more nervous than when having my first straight shave! Still smiling!!

    I've used the strop quite a bit now with both round and straight points. No scratching, just sharp razors! I'm so pleased with this strop I cannot put it into words.
