    Thiers state this:

Important—the chromium oxide paste must fill the pores in your strop; you don’t want it to coat the surface. Before first use, with your fingers, rub in a generous amount of paste to completely cover the surface and fill all voids. Then, with a paper towel, wipe all the excess paste off the surface.

I can't seem to find a reliable source for oxide in the UK, think I might just go with diamond.

Diamond is completely different from Chromium Oxide, most use Chrome Oxide after Diamond to calm/ smooth a diamond edge.

I thought there was a Kremer shop in the UK?

Using diamond paste on leather is it better to choose water carrier or oil carrier?for carrier I mean the medium.
What's about to use forfabric strop or balsa paddle?
@ferroburak please could you provide a brand for the titanium oxide?

Don’t think it really matters with leather the grit will imbed in the pores. Most of us use mineral oil with most powders.
Diamond will work well on leather, but I prefer fine weave nylon, felt or paper.

Diamond will perform differently depending on the stiffness of the substrate. the harder the substrate, more aggressive the cutting of the grit.

Never heard of anyone using Titanium Dioxide, and do not know anything about the shape of the grit. The particle size from what I can see is close to one micron which is rather large. Chromium Oxide is about .5.

Try it, the worst that can happen is you have to re hone, do use a disposable substrate for testing, I experiment on form core poster board.
