Before seeing this thread, I had seen literally dozens of recommendations for the kit sold by Larry at Whipped Dog. This is the first time (that I'm aware of) where someone has bought something that seems unfit for purpose. The damage to that leather appears to me, IMHO, to be beyond repair and I can't imagine that it was caused by the way it was posted, unless it was screwed up in a tight ball and stamped on. Flawed? I can think of a different word for it that starts with F.

I have got both the poor mans and the "flawed" strops from Larry. Loved the poor man but the flawed not so much but it was useable. I would just talk to Larry about it.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
