    It's right at 2 inches,,, I might use it as a strop , maybe for travel,,,,

    Clean smooth leather 2" wide fits will work. When I shaved with a straight the first time around I was in my late teens and there was no place to source a strop and a 2" wide leather belt it was. It worked for me.

    The new one looks okay in a pinch or to learn on. The pile looks worn, bent/kinked, maybe stiff. Not so good. Just my opinion .

    Dont ruin this beautyfull belt for a razor strop . I think it is good , but find a quality cowhide 7 - 8 sm wide , instead of ruin this quality belt .
