Thread: Red Imp strops

I was wondering if anyone can help with some information. I have been looking ay the Red Imp strops and there appears to be the two models the 700 and the 700c. I have seen the 700 marked at the base with different suppliers or company's and the 700c with the Certifyd logo and supplier logos. Some of the 700c seems to have all red imp logos on both leather and linen and some not . I have seen 1 700 with on the leather and saw one with a liberty silk finish linen. Is there much difference between these strops or are they likley the same strop with different markings. Thanks for any information.

We have discussed this very thing a couple times before. Mine is the 700 made by E.M Manufacturing Co which has the certified check logo on it and the red Imp logo on the Linen too. I think JimmyHad has more info on this.

Thanks Spender. There seems to be a real mix and match between the 2 numbers and which logos they have. There seems to be no set pattern which makes it hard to know what to look for. Which kind of linen would you say yours has.

I don't know the various types of linen however mine is top grade and great stuff. It's one of the best true linen strops I've ever seen.
