    Default Strop Info Needed

I have found an excellent strop and I don't know if it's even leather.
I have seen strop backs like this before but I don't know the material it's made from.
It sure looks and feels like leather but there is practically no draw to it and it put one H*** of an edge on my razor.

Just would like to know if it's natural or synthetic?

I might mention this is a one piece strop. The diamond pattern is on the back side, and no, it is not pasted.

Its leather alright. I don't use the diamond side on mine. I don't know anybody who does. But, I don't know that many people. =P

Yup. Cowhide leather. I head one a while ago from a differnt maker. Horse for the main, leather diamond texture for the second.

Looks Good: A good cleaning on the main leather strop with shaving soap and it will have zero draw. I love those type of strops. If the price is right purchase it now before I do.

It's leather, probably Russian. The backside is milled and seems to be pasted, which is what the milled backside is usually for.
If it works great, do absolutely nothing to it. JMO

Red? True, but I believe it to be dyed. Nothing came off onto the cleaning rag. This strop has been cleaned and conditioned.

If the price is fair and you go home empty handed you will not be able to sleep tonight.

They were a large and very well-known outfit. Back then they only used leather for strops.

I have some strops with the diamond pattern. As has been said the back is for special use.
