Thanked: 56SRD Premium Fabric/Felt
Hi folks,
When I bought my strop from SRD, I went with the webbing, but I see that for a couple bucks, I can get a replacement for the fabric side. I suppose this is also useful if using different pastes, which I may also try. I'm wondering if I should go with the fabric or the felt? I don't see many people talking about felt, so I'm inclined to go with the fabric. Just looking for some feedback before I buy.
Thanks!

Thanked: 4830Felt get used a lot on pasted bench strops. It is on some hanging strops too. I use it on my daily driver and it seems to be just fine.

I have both the linen and felt. I prefer the linen for daily use and would use the felt for pasting.
My wife calls me.........Can you just use Ed

Been using felt on hanging strop for about 4 years on my daily shavers, no complaints and seems to leave a nice smooth shaving edge.
I used to use Chromium Oxide pasted and Ferrous Oxide pasted felt to finish an edge after honing. Later I tried the same pastes (Crox & Ferrous) on leather, which I currently use, and feel the edges are a little smoother."If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

I switched to the premium fabric, from the webbing, on my SRD strop several months ago and really like it for my daily use. Have felt on a paddle strop for sprays.
Never considered the felt for the hanging strop and daily use, might be interesting to try.
