    Default Strop advice

Looking for a new strop. Still using a vintage Red Imp my grandfather passed down. Looking for suggestions and opinions on Kanayama, paddle strop from SRD, or any others that you guys can recommend.

I have the 3" English bridle with felt from SRD. It's nice looking and does the job.

I have the same strop as Moon above, it is great. I also have the modular paddle strop from SRD, it is a terrific strop overall and especially great as you get better stropping form.

The Red Imp is a nice strop. You may want to experiment with a 3" strop but you may decide that grandpa new best.

The red imp strops are considered one of the best vintage strops. My best would be a kanayama 80000 but I use it with my own cotton flax tube webbing. I have a couple vintage shells and the srd Latigo and English bridle but the srd strops no longer get used. I find shell or roo the best. Ymmv

Like Eddy and Bob, I have several expensive strops and a SRD Latigo.
The SRD gets the job done for about 1/10 the cost of a Kami 90000.

If I could do it all over again, I would have just gotten an SRD strop from the start. I decided to make my own and after buying the leather and hardware, I ended up with 2 mediocre strops. I would much rather have one awesome strop from SRD.

Have the SRD 3" The Natural strop and love it! Very high quality at a very reasonable price.
I like the fact that you can buy other linen and leather options and replace them easily.
