Thanked: 3215Photos would help, probably too much pressure, a lot depend on the razor and more so on the honer and technique. When you look straight down on the edge do you see any shiny reflections?
What brand is your 12K and your razor?
What is your progression?
Why do you not want to use tape?

Thanked: 3215You have a perfect progression probably just too much pressure on the finish stones,
Either do another set on the 12k with lite pressure or add a layer of tape and do 15-20 laps and see if the edge comes together.
Strop on leather.
Could be your stropping try shaving off the stone.

Thanked: 4827So in taping it did you tape it and rehone the blade or did you tape it and go straight to the finisher for 20 or so laps?
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
