The thing I like about the SRD's is I can change the parts instead of buying a whole new strop. As I refined my stropping skills I have refine my strop as part of the reward.
    Thanks again.

I think good old fashioned wet shaving is good for the brain. I actually had two brainstorms this past week! I had to replace one of my cheapo bonded leather belts. Now granted a belt about 1.25 inches in width max is no substitute for a 2-3 inch strop. And I have no intention on using that as a cheap substitute for a strop. But what I could do is, after practicing my flip technique (it's not too hard for me to do using the method in Lynn's stropping video), I may even take my shavette with a blade that has seen 2 shaves (ive been discarding my blades after 2 shaves) and practice stropping on that belt with the blade still in it.

Again, while it is not like stropping a SR on a 3" wide strop, I am guessing this will help with my draw and flip technique so I can minimize strop dings.

Just a random, harebrained idea here... :P

Some vendors make a 2" strop for those who like a thin strop. The old pro barbers used a 2& 1/2" width and that is my personal preference. Good idea to practice on an old belt IMO.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Good move. I have one of Tony's plain vanilla steer strops (I wanted one of his fancier strops, but nothing was available). My razors seem to love this strop... it really is nice for a reasonable price.

Thanks. I think it was the best choice I had. I absolutely love this strop. It has made me appreciate the importance of a really nice piece of leather.
