Thanked: 101Jaeger Barber Supply Strop
Went with my daughter last weekend to some garage sales & by accident found this Jaeger strop at a old friends sale. It was hanging in his old woodworking shop & I just happened to see it. It was pretty nasty looking & dried out but I told him I would give him five bucks for it.
I started cleaning it up& found the usually linen strop was in fact rough out leather. It said "Rough Neck strop & looks to be treated with a white dry substance. This strop feels really good & puts a great edge on that is ready to be stropped on the fine Horse hide finishing strop. Got to say I really like my Koken strop but this Jaeger Supply Co. strop just beat it out of first place. Jaeger Supply Co. was in Springfield Illinois. The model is #999.
The hardware was a gunked up with crud & black paint. Used some paint stripper on it then buffed it out & it has a nice pewter look.
Anyone else have one or heard of it? I know, pictures to follow
