Thread: Replacing a lost strop, little overwhelmed with the options out there.

    If you're from the USA region - SRD strop
    Europe - The Different Scent Old Traditional strop or Scrupleworks

    but in the end
    Those Dovo / Herold (or w/e they're called) russian strops + linen are a very good choice too, I started with one and must say, fine strops, their linen is fantastic imo

    I've been through a few strops and agree, it all comes down to budget and how a strop feels to you. In the end I only own one, it's a Tony Miller 2.5" horse hide. Never felt a need to replace it, although I did try lol.

    Chris,

    I use 2 strops almost excursively

    a Illinois #827

    a SRD Premium #1

    They both have a sweet medium draw
