Thanked: 55Herold red and green tensioned strops
Has any one ever tried one of these? Apparently come with one side ready pasted with the red being fine recommended for carbon and the green coarse recommended for stainless steel. Guessing these are chromium and iron oxide. Mainly curiosity, was looking for a strop for chrox and came across these.

The Harold strop paste are the same as dovo red and green. So red is about 3-4 microns and green 5-6 microns. You can get a really good shaving edge off both but not the same as Chrox , about .5 microns, and ironox, about .25. As to the strop I have the jemico version of it and it works great currently using it as my everyday strop.

Yes I have tried one of them, works fine, as they are supposed to. Not sure about the recommendations carbon versus stainless steel though. I remember being told that the red is for first upkeep, if that doesn't work anymore, use the green one.
