Default Fixing small knicks in strop.

Hi all, I am a newbie and I put very small nicks (2 or 3) at the ends of my strop. Someone told me to lightly sand the nicks and rub neatsfoot oil on the strop, including the nicked area, with the palm of my hand. I was wondering what kind of sand paper and what grid? It is a brand new strop and the nicks are in the upper and lower corners of the strop. I nicked it when I flipped my razor to change directions. Thank you for your help.

If the nicks are shallow..... I've used 800 grit sandpaper..... Lightly rub the area. I haven't used neats foot oil on a "repair".... I've just used my fingers and rubbed my finger nails to smooth it down after the sanding.

It doesn't take much sanding either..... Small circles if was what I used. The less area you have to use the sand paper on, the better.

I'm sure more people will chime in.

Yes, like Willis said, just lightly sand it down so you don't get the bump when your razor goes over it. No need to apply oil.
