    Default Made my own strop

Well, I decided to try my hand at making a paddle strop. Had a nice plank of some pretty grained walnut laying here and found some nice smooth leather that was the perfect size. This will probably be the one I add some Chromium Oxide to.

Very good. Have considered adding a second stropping material to the bottom?

Actually I have. As much as I love the look of the walnut, I think I may hit a junkyard and get some seatbelt webbing and put on the back side. Would like to find a nice burgundy like out of an old Ford Tempo. lol

Yea, that would work or hard felt for a pasted side. Too bad the walnut was not thicker you could do a 4 sided one.

Polypro webbing works well on a paddle strop. It firms up the action and is a lot of fun to zip right along.
