    Default New strop arrived today!

Late last week, I managed to get in touch with Mr. Tony Miller to discuss purchasing my first decent strop. I've been using the poor man's strop from whipped dog and had gotten pretty used to it. It's needless to say that I had no idea what a world of difference I was about to experience. The 3" beginner strop makes me feel I've been stropping on crusty boot leather. I still love that first one, but I had no idea how nice that wide bridle leather would be.

My wife is so confused at my new obsession over a "piece of leather with shiny metal parts"..haha Really awesome product. You fellas knocked it out of the park with your reviews of Mr. Miller's work, to whom I'd also like to say thanks.

You have done well getting a TM. If you do come over, I'll show you a couple more makers to try, I just have to corrupt you just a bit. By the way if I wanted to I could have fished in the yard after all the rain today! Tc

I'll make it over, man. And it was the same in Laurelwood. You could have easily paddled a canoe in the parking lot. I cast an 8wt during the worst of it with a guy headed to Ascension Bay tomorrow..working on his cast. Didn't have the heart to tell him that, rather than land the permit of a lifetime, he neglected to practice and is about to get a super expensive sunburn instead. At least the scenery will be excellent!

Tony makes fantastic strops. I will have one of his heirlooms one day soon.
