Thread: Linen strop maker in australia

Hi All

I am new to straights does anyone know of a linen strop maker in Australia?

Emanuel are you just looking for the linen or do you want a full strop. What material are you looking at. Some things ate sourced easily enough others are downright impossible without buying in ridiculous quantities. Give me a call if you want some specific info.

Most of the better strops from the US, like the Classic Shaving mountain strops have a linen weave strop in addition to the leather part. I have found a way to save us, lots of money. Even if you have only an old belt in your wardrobe. Get a pair of old denim jeans that don't fit and attach a length of it with PVA glue to the belt or opposite side of a plain strop, and the next day you have a linen strop. Too easy mate, and it is a dead set winner. I made decisions, like the one you are considering, and found that stout denim jeans do a great job. They are in fact linen!
