This is the first strop I have owned and my training ground. I have learned to strop various razors with it and, over several months, it has suffered somewhat. I tend to use only the top half these days and I have another on order from Berlin, I would like to know if there is any way for me to recover this however, so I might still be able to make full use of it. Is it salvage or scrap?

Get a fine pumice stone, or high grit wet & dry sandpaper (use it dry) and go over the nicks lightly until you flatten them out. Get some neatsfoot oil (a little goes a very long way) and rub that in. It won't be pretty but it should work fine. IMHO.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hehe, I nicked one of mine yesterday, so to the shop with 1200 grit and a DA sander(2400grit equivalent) should get it resurfaced, then lots of hand rubbing and polish should put it back to use.

    Good luck with yours Tom.
