If by 'inconsistent thickness' it is meant that the strop is not the same thickness from one end to the other I have a hard time believing that. If it is meant that it is not the same thickness as the rest of their offerings that would make more sense ....... to me ......
It is worth noting that amongst the vintage, and current production, strops that I have, the thickness varies. One of my best strops is an very old Koken shell which is extremely thin. Alongside of it is a C-Mon 4 times as thick, and a Red Imp that is in between the two. All great strops. I tend to prefer thin strops 2&1/2" wide, but YMMV.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
