Thumbs up Show us &tell us about your KOKEN strops

I love my Shell horse hide strop with a Scotch Linen back strop from Koken. As far as I can tell this strop was imported from Scotland.when they were getting rid of big old draft horses that is the animal they got the shell from. When I get proper lighting I will get pictures of the Koken .

Been having trouble with the camera on the I phone 6S. Sorry I haven't got pictures up yet! My 10 year old grand daughter will figure out what is going wrong. "I hope" ;-)

Pitchers it is. I used these in another thread about shell strops and their thickness. The Koken, third from the left in both photos is very thin. Sort of like Neil Miller's shell. Note the dark lines which are apparently natural markings in the shell. The ebay seller offered poor photos and I took a chance that the dark streaks weren't caused by abuse or neglect. It paid off. The Koken is one of my favorite strops. A pleasure to use, and seems to be very effective.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
