Some just don't get how wonderful Kanayama Strops are. I know you will enjoy your #70000. My #70000 is my everyday strop, with a back-up #80000 on the hooks, which gets a rub every few weeks, and I have another brand new #70000 in original packing in the cupboard for posterity. My son (27) has a #50000 that I added a suede piece to. I have owned three more and passed them on to good homes. 3 is my limit, I won't sell any at present, but you know you can never have too many Kanayama's. It's a great club to be in.

Any flavor of Kanayama is a going to be a good strop, after I sold off my 70000 I opened up a 30000 which AFrames now has with suede and no cotton ( Never cared for the cotton ) the 30000 measures 4mm thick so it's very close to the 70000, unless you cut or nicked one of these strops one would last you a lifetime, very simple design with no frills except a quality piece of leather that just has the perfect amount of draw for me, I am slowly getting my SAD all lined out and am down to about 8 strops so more than likely will be parting with a few more soon.

I have tried over the years not to be a promoter of any one particular piece of gear, my collection of strops, brushes, razors (DE/SE & Straights) soaps, splashes, creams and balms are meager compared to some but I am enjoying the ride.

I love trying all of the above and enjoy the challenges some of these items bring and when I am done I love to share my expereinces with a commiunity that enjoys hearing about them, some of those experiences are pleasant and some are not and some are right in the middle and once i have enjoyed them I then decide if I will continue to use them or part with them at a loss and my loss is someone else's gain as I never sell items even in perfect like new condition at the cost of new, heck I give alot away as I am lucky enough to be blessed with a fair amount of disposable income that allows me to try all these wonderful products so when I can pass something on to another member that can be enjoyed for months or years to come at a discount thats always a nice thing.

Do I love Kanayama strops, you bet I do thats why I have several but then I love Filarmonica straights and have several of those to, I also brag on the quality of Tony Miller and Scruplework strops and have sold or given away several of those as well so for me it's not about promoting any one particular product its about using and testing and then possibly passing on products I have enjoyed to others so they to can enjoy them as well at a discounted price and in some cases free as others within the shaving communities I belong to have done the same for me.

So with all my rambling i say enjoy all you are blessed with and if you can share with others what you have used i say share, sometimes that shareing is knowledge and sometimes it's a tangible item and sometimes it's both and i hope that what I have shared is enjoyed.
