Thread: Dovo XL Strop, Russian leather

It is a couple of weeks tops... u and i have similar taste... i chose bourbon as well... with suede and a matching separated linen... in fact mine is on hold coz i have not yet decided on the handles material.. most likely it will just be plain brown latigo... i want it sober... hat to pay a bit extra for the stamp of horween in the back...

Then i think 1 or 2 weeks shipping....

As for the nats... i decided long ago not to mess with it until i met the 5 years mark (on honing and shaving with SRs)... chances are i'll never get ibto naturals... i really like my choseras... and the other naniwas i have (green brick, goukens line, snowwhite, and 12kSS)... the only non naniwas i have are the norton combos (my first stones), my SG20k and my atomas (which in fact shoul not count as stones)

They do heir job so well i cant just justify changing them... im a naniwa hones guy... but i bet it would be the same if i had chosen the shaptons initially.... once u achieve consistent results and get to know your stones its easy to stay that way... i bet the same goes for the jnats... but dont want to open that door yet... reserving some fun for the future ...

In fact.. i migth sell some hones soon... i already have more than i need... :P

Oh.. btw.. i'll be happy to report back on the strop Bob! send some pics of yours too.. those things are just marvelous to see.. the guys is a real freaking artist!!

I will probably put my order in on Monday and I'll certainly post some pics. I have always been a Naniwa guy, chosera 1k, superstones 2,3,5,8,10k and Suehiro Gokumyo 20k to finish. I have a couple of others that don't see much use, a Naniwa Deluxe Lobster brand 4k 210 x 75 x 25 and a 10k Icebear which is also big. I only got into jnats about 7 months ago and I have 3 an Ozuku Asagi bench size, double sided, a Wakasa bench size and a Shobu Asagi Tamamoku bench sized too. I have gotten good edges here and there but to be honest I am still learning how to get the best out of them. The Shobu is my favourite, and the cheapest, but even it is lots more than the strops. Consistency is my problem with the jnats but I don't regret buying them. I hope to get better at using them in time. (I had to repost this as it dropped out mid send) oh, don't sell the Gok 20, just yesterday I touched up a Hart 7/8 and shaved with it. First class edges from the Suehiro!
