Since i was getting close to finishing them i thought i should post a pic. Well thats when i started counting, then looked around in my closet and was like, oh there is another strop, and another, and another. One of the ones i found was a Russian strop. So now i have 2. I told my GF i think i have 12 strops. She was like thats it? I thought you would have one for each shave of the year. I was like omg you are a genius..... So im not sure if that was a challenge or just shock i really didnt have one for every shave. Either way she is a keeper.

Can confirm, you have a problem - you're 355 strops shy of a full set (Need to include one to break out every 4 years on a leap year!)

You may be right. Even Nigel Tufnel from "This is Spinal Tap" managed to get by with 11.

Ya gotta have a Roo, Tom.
Their like a velvet covered shell strop. And you can roll them up a stuff them in a duffel bag, should you go in vacation.

As to the OP.. I have a Russian that I rehydrated, from the wilds.
By far my favorite strop, brings out the best an edge can give. Its taken some time to bring it back to service, being it was as stiff and brittle as a cracker when I found it, but now its like a oil slicker, jacket. Soft and flexible, Med./ Light draw, and fast.

It can also be rolled up, with no I'll effects, like cracking.

Its only equal, has been the Roo. But that may change with the addition of a vintage, Presto, boar hide that I've been working on. Made by L.A. FLINKER, of Detroit, Michigan. Its usable as of now, but still has a few stiff spots in it, that will be gone in the next couple of applications of neats foot oil.

Its the only way I could describe it.
Their sooo soft, and thin, but very strong, with a velvety draw.

And they form to the shape of a smiling blade really nice, no need for X strokes.[emoji6]

I know what you mean there. I have my Horween shell from Neil and a few other thin horsehide ones which are like that.
    Great choices for smilers!
