I did some digging on mink oil for pigskin on some strops I am rehydrating.
Mink oil with silicone was not recommended...

I don't really know. I was digging for info specifically related to pigskin.
It may be fine for other leather strops.
My thinking is that natural substances should be used. It would seem silicons do not fall under that category?
