    Now I turned the strap over and the other side became facial. I spent a little time, an about two hours. I highly recommend abrasive sponges for wet polishing leather - a great tool!

    Isn't shell cordovan attached to another piece of leather, because the shell is very thin. I was told this and I checked the edge of my shell strop and I can see two different layers.

    No, this strop was made of solid (one piece) russian shell I think.
