I can only assume it has to do with shipping cost's and possibly customs, maybe some strops he has shipped outside the US were lost or damaged but i am guessing on that.

I have a Shell being made by Alastair with Westholme, his work comes highly recommended and I was lucky enough to try all the strops he makes, he sent me one of each to try and the attention to detail is top notch, Tony Miller is another but he does not ship outside the US.

*Update - I decided on the Straight Razor Designs 3" Premium I Leather Strop.

Also ordered a new Omega boar shavingbrush while I was "in the store". My old boar brush is starting to look a little thin.

A few months ago I purchased a 3" Roo strop from SRD. I really like it, a lot.

Yes, it, too, is a leather/linen set. Nicely made, I might add!

I only have a handful of strops, pricey ones though
and I gotta admit that the Kanayama is amazingly fun to strop on, I love mine (I think I got the 30k or something)

that said, I also like my Dovo strops and my Old Traditional is also superb, the Scrupleworks is also an amazing piece of craftsmanshift; they're all excellent

I really liked the write up and reviews on the Scrupleworks.

Thinkin' that one is 'next' after this 'next'

I would go with a bisonworks or Ezra Arthur as they're called now they're cheaper than a lot of others but are very nice or you could go to fendrihans an pick yourself up a kanoyama 10000 for a fairly decent price which are incredible strops an the 10000 is decently priced compared to the other models of kanoyama.

Apparently, and unlike yourself, I find some value in seeking the opinions of the forum.

I don't see a single responding post that I'd regard as an attempt to troll the thread.

This thread reinvigorated my previously well-treated SAD.

I have a Walkin' Horse strop which I like just fine but have taken some chunks out of.
I looked at the Ezra Arthur bison strops but doubt I will ever spend $300 on a strop.
