Thanked: 133CrOx on leather strop?
I have a SRD strop (premium IV) and I like the second webbed part but don't want to put CrOx on it (or back no paticular reason). I do have a illinoise 127 strop that I don't use any though, would CrOx go nicely on the leather? I don't like the linen on the back of the illinoise and its dirty so I am just not gonna bother. CrOx I have is spray from SRD shop a while back. Been long time since I have used it and thought I would make it so I had the option of using it later if I want.

Thanked: 2Hi. I do not think you will have a problem but you could clean if you want the flax side. Its easy. just if you want to remove the crox later will be difficult. I would personally prefer powder with water rather than spray.

Thanked: 96I have a SRD loom strop and applied chromium oxide .5 and .25 to smooth leather pads and it is amazing what a difference it makes in the smoothness and sharpness. If you want to remove chromium oxide, use lighter fluid on toilet paper to remove it. I use it on my Mastro Livi loom strop.
