a strop to buy where ?
hi everyone,
this lately i need a good strop at least 50 60 cm (only strop parts and not the handle etc.) there is ZY from china but it's not very good to make a razor shave ready. i looked on amazon but there is not any i like. as i'm in France, i look in europeen union otherwise it will cost too much.
also i have another question; where do you strop ? i don't mean which room in the house. at my old appartement i was putting my old strop on the window in living room. as i moved to my new appart, there is not anywhere i can put my strop and work on blades. so do you have any ideas to make a place to hang my next strop ? i just don't want to put a nail on the wal, it will be looked not so elegant.

I guess you know that in France there are the Chewbacca stops and my own preference there, Requin's rasoir-sabre offerings by way of a side-detour to Turkey these days--or is it the other way 'round? Also Torolf's Scrupleworks offerings from EU-ambiguous Norway.
In my bathroom, I have a hook installed at a navel-high level, where I attach the strop before and after the shave. Afterwards, the strop is stored away in a closet in the neighboring hallway, away from bathroom humidity. In the short term, with a shoelace by way of attachment, a nearby doorknob usually does the trick. Best to store the strop away from the bathroom when not in use in my opinion.
En tout cas, bonne continuation.Last edited by Brontosaurus; 04-08-2018 at 04:52 AM.

thanks for reply. requin's articles are too expensives and now he lives in another country so this means it will cost more than its price.
otherwise i don't like the other guy (some artisans prefere to make money and not to be wise and firendly with other users.) so that's why i look for other ones. :/

I've sent a couple of emails/PMs to friends in your part of the world. Hopefully they can be of some help.

SRD has reasonably priced replacement leather - it might be worth sending an email to inquire about shipping.
Cheers, Steve
